Something about Sedona steals my heart every time and as an Arizona Elopement Photographer, I am constantly amazed by its beauty. Haliegh and Austin are the kind of couple where their love just magnetizes every time they’re together. In a beautiful Munds Wagon Trail Sedona Elopement, Haleigh and Austin exchanged their vows surrounded by red rocks and a small group of close friends/family. It was a beautiful day celebrating their love and just WAIT until you see these photos.
A Love Story | Haleigh & Austin
Haleigh and Austin met originally through a classic photobomb one night after the gym. Can we guess who the photo bomber was? Hint, it was Austin. After this initial interaction and a quick follow on socials, their paths would then cross again at the same gym. It was there that Haleigh and Austin began talking and immediately hit it off! When Austin wasn’t photobombing of course – LOL.
It wasn’t until one day that things would take a dramatic step, for the better! On a bucket list trip to Glacier National Park, their lives would change forever. One day on this trip after hiking to a hidden lake trail, Austin got to one knee and popped the question. While it wasn’t a smooth ride, as Haleigh definitely wanted to do a bit more exploring, in the end, it was 100% worth it. As we can imagine, we all know what Haleigh’s answer was. The remainder of that night was Haleigh and Austin soaking in the moment to watch the sunset overlooking Lake Mcdonald. The perfect day to start the rest of their forever.
Munds Wagon Trail in Sedona, Arizona | Merry Go Round Trail
Munds Wagon Trail is an incredibly easy and casual hike located near Merry Go Round Rock. I am very familiar with Merry Go Round Rock and recently blogged Cheska and Cody’s Sedona elopement there as well. You can read that here! This trail is the perfect distance if you’re wanting to have a bit of an excursion for your elopement but nothing too strenuous. Since we are in Sedona, you have beautiful views of red rocks all throughout. Making it a key reason why couples all throughout the country come here to have their Sedona elopement. On this hike, you can find paths of wildflowers and exposure to some of Sedona’s wildlife as well!
Important Information For Your Munds Wagon Trail Sedona Elopement
Before making your way to Munds Wagon Trail for your Sedona elopement, there are some important stats that you’re going to need to know ahead of time. These stats can essentially make or break whether or not you choose to have your Sedona elopement at Munds Wagon Trail.
- The entire hike roundtrip for Munds Wagon Trail is about a 6.5-mile hike which takes about 3 hours in total to complete.
- Dogs are allowed on this trail however they must be leashed
- Munds Wagon Trail has an elevation of about 1,105 feet
- There is no shade on this trail so be prepared with some water, sunscreen, and either a hat or umbrella
Haleigh & Austin’s Munds Wagon Trail Sedona Elopement
Haleigh and Austin chose to have a Sedona elopement to focus on each other. Rather than worry about the stresses of wedding planning, they wanted to focus on doing something more intimate and adventurous. They both love hiking and traveling so naturally being able to do a little bit of both for their wedding day was an absolute must. The morning was spent slowly, getting ready and soaking in this beautiful day before our big adventure ahead. We then made our way to Munds Wagon Trail where Haleigh and Austin exchanged their love for one another in an intimate ceremony surrounded by close family and friends.
Shortly after, you know we had to get some portraits with those beautiful red rocks so off we went. Adventuring through the trails and admiring the canyons beneath us we were able to get some of the most epic shots I have ever had the pleasure of documenting. Seriously, have you seen them yet?
The night ended with us heading back to Haleigh & Austin’s Airbnb where an intimate dinner was held. The drinks were flowing and Austin broke out his guitar to serenade the rest of the guests. An intimate Munds Wagon Trail Sedona elopement turned into a beautiful dinner with good company. What could be better than that?
