Sedona Elopement

You know those couples that you see together, and just KNOW they’re perfect together? That’s exactly how I felt when I met Travis and Tiffany. They complimented each other perfectly, and you could tell every time they looked at each other, that they’re crazy in love.

Tiffany contacted me and asked if I’d be willing to shoot their elopement in Sedona on December 30, 2019.

They decided on the end of December, because they wanted to end the decade with a BANG. SO OF COURSE I’M IN, what better way to end the 2010s than to marry your soulmate in the most beautiful place on earth?

Definitely… this was one of the best ceremonies I’ve ever participated in. Just a handful of people who TRULY care about Travis and Tiffany, surrounded by the beautiful red rocks of Sedona. The officiant, Haylee, received her online certificate specifically so she could officiate for them (#squadgoals).

We met at Bell Rock in Sedona, and hiked to a location on the rock that Tiffany and Travis had picked out that morning. The weather was colder than we expected, but we bundled up with sweaters, gloves, and a billion Hot Hands.

Why elope?

If you are considering eloping, but you’re worried about “missing out” on a traditional wedding, let me tell ya… you’re going to miss out on something even better if you DON’T elope.

Long long time ago, back when I was getting married to my ex, I knew big weddings WERE NOT ME. I wasn’t looking forward to standing in a line, shaking hands with the hundreds of guests, and being at the center of attention (my biggest nightmare = dancing in the middle of the room with everyone watching).

When I mentioned that I wanted to keep the wedding intimate… I was told that “there are just certain expectations that come along with getting married. Even if you don’t like it, you still have to play along to keep everyone else happy.”

GUESS. WHAT. There is ABSOLUTELY NO TRUTH IN THAT.

A little advice from my therapist: “why give two shits about what anyone else thinks.”

Elopements have no expectations, traditions, or roles you have to play. The day is yours, you can be married where you want with who you want.
